Playing, building, learning. For everyone.
Rebel Makers is a network of peer-to-peer making clubs for everyone who is interested in technology – regardless of age or ability. At our Clubs, Rebels get together to share existing knowledge and learn new skills in a fun, safe and collaborative environment, exploring anything and everything from electronics and programmable hardware, through to writing code, design, and media production.
RebelMakers Birmingham moves to Vanti HQ.

Our core Values
-
Safe
Regardless of your age, orientation or background, Rebel Makers will always be a safe space for you to learn and grow.
-
Free
Our commitment to opening up opportunities for all means Rebel Makers Clubs are – and will always be – free to attend.
-
Collaborative
Every Rebel has as much to give as they have to gain, that’s why creating a collaborative environment is so important to us.
-
Anyone can learn
We believe you can learn something from everyone – no matter who they are. You’re never too old or too young!
Skills exchange
Gain validation by sharing knowledge you already have while learning and experimenting with new skills and tech.
Club projects
These will be on-going and decided by each Club as a whole, giving every Rebel the chance to work on a group project.
Work on projects
If you’ve got a project which you want to start or continue, use our Clubs as a great space to be productive and get support.
Hardware
Hardware Hubs will offer a variety of kit and gadgets for Rebels to experiment with.
Awesome community
Joining the Rebellion means meeting, learning and sharing with lots of brilliant, like-minded people.
Workshops
Workshops are great ways to give deeper insight into specific areas of the tech world, or kickstart new skills.
We are a community
It’s hugely important to us that Rebel Makers is grounded in and driven by the community. This is something that will never change. We run democratically, giving every Rebel a voice to decide how the Clubs will be structured and what direction we take Rebel Makers in the future.
Find out about
Please find the current version of our Safeguarding Policy here. If you have any questions at all, please get in touch.
All Rebels, Club Leaders, volunteers, partners, sponsors and visitors are expected to abide by the Rebel Makers Code of Conduct. Or as we like to call it, our Rules of Rebellion! Rebel Makers is a kickass community. Being part of this community means:
- committing to helping each other
- listening to others views
- setting an example
- treating everyone equally
- respecting the club, your fellow Rebels and visitors
If you think someone is being particularly positive or awesome – tell them! It’s important to build confidence and let people know you appreciate them/their actions.
If you think someone is being negative or harsh – let them know. Remember to always do this in a quiet and constructive way, without drawing undue attention.
To represent yourself and Rebel Makers to your very best ability, you must always practice:
- No violence
- No harassment
- No discrimination
- No inappropriate imagery or content
Rebel Labs is committed to these Rules of Rebellion and seeks to ensure, as far as is reasonably possible, the adherence to this code. Let’s explore what this means in a little more detail:
- Harassment includes verbal remarks which may reasonably be construed as offensive (at the discretion of the Rebel Leader/Rebel Labs team), intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption, intrusive photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention.
- It may be that you do not realise or are unaware that your actions are making a fellow Rebel feel uncomfortable. However, if someone says no, or makes you aware of their discomfort, stop immediately.
- If someone is being inappropriate or making you feel uncomfortable, or you notice someone else’s discomfort, inform your Club Leader immediately.
- Rebel Labs takes a zero tolerance policy on the use or consumption of illegal drugs at a Rebel Makers Club. Anyone found doing will be made known to the Club Leader immediately.
If you do not abide by this Code, the Club Leader or the Rebel Labs team reserve the right to ask you to leave a Club or the community permanently.
Please read our Terms & Conditions before joining the Rebel Makers community.
